According to research done by Smart Energy GB, many people think energy is ‘ultra-dull’ and persuading people to think about and talk about energy can be incredibly challenging.

Regen ran four very successful energy inspired yarn-bombing workshops with knitters in Totnes and Exeter. Over the course of the workshops, participants chose an item they associate with energy to yarn bomb and then sat and chatted about community energy, energy efficiency and our hopes for the future.

The resulting works have been exhibited at lots of Regen’s events and have provided an intriguing starting point for conversations!

This project was part of SWIMBY musical and showed that developing fun filled activities using art-forms that people want to try out themselves is a good route to over-coming the ‘ultra-dullness’ the usually puts people off thinking about energy.
