School of Engineering, University of Plymouth, Drake Circus, Plymouth, PL48AA

The School of Engineering offers our students the opportunity to study for degrees under three main disciplines: Mechanical and Marine Engineering, Civil and Coastal Engineering and Navigation and Maritime Science, the latter being the historical focus of education since the Plymouth School of Navigation was founded in 1862. We aim to serve the educational, research and industrial needs of those living and working in the South West and further afield; our graduates are eminently employable and we are proud of their contributions to society. Our researchers are well known in the fields of coastal engineering, composites, materials and structures and autonomous marine systems; we are one of the leading centres for marine renewable energy research and testing with access to excellent facilities that include the world-class Coastal, Ocean and Sediment Transport Laboratory.
