Project duration: (2005 - ongoing)

The south west is home to some of the world’s leading marine energy device developers, research and test facilities. We also have strong maritime and engineering capabilities, especially around the ports at Bristol, Falmouth, Plymouth and Portland.

Whether it’s installing wave devices off the Iberian Peninsula, tidal stream technology in Strangford Lough or a new offshore wind turbine in the North Sea, south west businesses are at the forefront, providing the skills and expertise needed to operate in the harshest environments.

Since its inception, Regen has worked to develop strong supply chain knowledge, maintaining a database of south west companies and running networking events.

Examples of our activities include:

  • Working in partnership with Invest Northern Ireland to develop a national supply chain model.
  • Working with the Offshore Renewable Energy Catapult, Marine Energy Pembrokeshire, Scottish Renewables and Renewable UK to develop a national supply chain database.
  • Producing the printed marine energy and offshore wind supply chain company directory, featuring over 350 companies from across the region.
  • Working with key stakeholders such as The Crown Estate, project developers, The Department of Energy and Climate Change, the Marine Management Organisation and local authorities, representing south west companies on key issues.
