Regen are delighted to have received funding from Power to Change to establish a new Community Energy Network in Dorset, and continue our work with the Devon network over the next 16 months. We have grand plans for getting groups in Dorset together to learn from each other, and take part in site visits, feasts and training to help get more locally owned renewable energy projects going. We are planning an inspirational tour of renewable energy projects in Dorset on Saturday 4 March. If you are a community group in Dorset thinking about energy, and you’d like to take part, then please get in touch.

Following on from the Community Energy Accelerator project and establishment of a strong local energy network in Devon, we will apply the lessons learned in Dorset, and work towards formalising the Devon network to help it become more self-sustaining. Come along to our network planning session on the 1 March in Exeter, if you’d like to be involved. We started working on ideas for the Devon community energy network activities in Brussels in December (you can read my blog about this here) and at our New Models for Community Energy event in November.

I’ve been in London recently taking part in the Community of Practice as part of this project. We’ll be exploring and sharing how networks work with 13 other community network practitioners across the country, and we’ll be working together to explore how community businesses can connect to transform the places where they live.
