County champions
Regen SW brings together a network of county level organisations who are champions of sustainable energy in their respective counties. We hold regular meetings with the groups to gather information and to ensure our efforts are joined up at a regional and county level. The organisations are:
Former Avon
Centre for Sustainable Energy (CSE)
CSE seeks sustainable energy solutions that engage people and communities to meet real needs for both environmentally sound and affordable energy services. They work with individuals and organisations from public, private and voluntary sectors on a wide range of initiatives at local, regional and national level. CSE runs the Bristol and Somerset Energy Efficiency Advice Centre (EEAC). It is part of a national network of 52 centres across the UK that provide free, impartial and locally relevant energy-efficiency advice to householders and small businesses.
Cornwall
Cornwall Sustainable Energy Partnership
Cornwall Sustainable Energy Partnership (CSEP) was created in November 2001 to combine the expertise and knowledge of organisations within the public, private, health and community sectors. It now has a membership of over 72 organisations who have signed the 2004 Energy Strategy for Cornwall, with the aim of ensuring a sustainable future for Cornwall.
Devon
Devon Association for Renewable Energy (DARE)
DARE supports those with an interest in decentralised renewable energy in Devon, providing members with an information and advisory facility. It assists project development, snd undertakes project management, and consultancy/feasibility work. DARE influences local and regional policy development through a range of networks and working groups.

Renewable Energy 4 Devon
Renewable Energy 4 Devon (RE4D) aims to maximise the opportunities for local economic benefits and business growth amongst renewable energy companies by increasing the demand for and deployment of smaller scale renewable energy installations while assisting SMEs and communities to reduce their energy costs.
RE4D offers advice and support from initial enquiry to installation. This includes offering free and independent advice to businesses, households, communities, schools, and the public sector on renewable energy technology options, sources of funding, and planning issues, . Currently RE4D covers West Devon, South Hams, Torridge, North Devon & part of Mid-Devon.
Dorset Energy Group
Dorsey Energy Group is the body that co-ordinates and monitors the delivery of key actions laid out in the Bournmouth, Dorset and Pool renewable energy strategy. It has dedicated officers at the county council who develop and oversee the renewable and energy efficiency strategies for Dorset. The advice is available to different target audiences including households, community groups, business, schools, landlords and farmers. The level of advice provided varies from telephone advice, and providing information days to site assessments and feasibility studies.

Gloucestershire
Severn Wye Energy Agency
Severn Wye Energy Agency Limited (SWEA) is a non-profit company and registered educational charity. It was established in 1999, under the European Commission SAVE programme, and is one of around 300 European local and regional energy ‘demand-management’ agencies. SWEA aims to promote sustainable energy and affordable warmth through partnership, awareness-raising, innovation and strategic action. We have developed a portfolio of projects and services in energy efficiency, renewable energy and sustainable transport. From its origins in the Forest of Dean, SWEA is active in South West England and Wales. It works in partnership with local authorities, health authorities, government agencies, regional bodies, the private sector, a range of voluntary agencies, and other energy agencies throughout Europe.
Somerset
Somerset County Council
Somerset County Council has a dedicated Renewable Energy Officer, and the Council website also has useful contacts for a range of target audiences on renewable energy. The County Council has pioneered the Somerset Biofuel Project and is developing the Somerset Wind Initiative, which is looking at using appropriate council owned land to develop wind energy schemes. The Centre for Sustainable Energy runs the Bristol & Somerset Energy Efficiency Advice Centre (EEAC).

Wiltshire
Wiltshire Wildlife Trust
Based at the Wiltshire Wildlife Trust, Wiltshire Energy Efficiency Advice Centre (EEAC) provides free, impartial, expert advice to help householders cut the amount of energy they use at home. The EEAC works closely with local authorities and energy suppliers so it can tell consumers about any grants or offers that might be available.
