Onshore electricity generation
Regen SW helps developers and communities understand what their options are for developing onshore electricity projects in the south west, and how they can best develop their ideas.
Our two key projects are Communities for Renewables and our Solar Parks programme.
Choose one of the projects below to find out how Regen SW can help you get your project off the ground.
In response to increasing enquiries from local communities and the new localism agenda, Regen SW has launched ‘Communities for Renewables’. This initiative project supports and brings together communities in the south west interested in developing renewable energy projects, and in particular communities interested in financing their own low-carbon investments through harnessing the wind resource in their area.
Regen SW helps developers and communities understand what their options are for developing megawatt-scale solar farms in the south west, how they can best develop their ideas and what the impact of policy changes will be. At the end of 2010 Regen SW held a 'Planning for the Solar PV Park Revolution' event, which contained a variety of information and presentations that you can download. We will also keep you up to date with the FiT developments.
Regen SW's Renewable Energy Progress Report provides a yearly update on the deployment of renewables across the south west. The report contains a summary of renewable electricity projects installed in the south west and a breakdown by county area, and the key points and lessons from the year are highlighted. The non-domestic data from the report is used on our online project map.
Regen SW has produced updated onshore renewable energy resource assessments for the south west, including wind, hydro, heat demand, biomass and microgeneration potential. GIS data for these assessments is available to local authorities in the south west through our LA membership, or with an administration charge.
