Supply chain case studies

One of Regen SW’s aims is to develop the supply chain for the offshore wind and marine energy sectors, through organising events and producing the Marine Energy and Offshore Wind South West Company Directory. Companies in the south west are already experiencing success with supplying these emerging industries, some becoming the leaders in their field.

This page has details of a selection of companies that are working in the offshore industry in the UK and abroad.

Pelagian Ltd, based in Minety, Wiltshire, is a consultancy specialising in the design and construction of submarine cable systems. The capabilities of the company range from initial feasibility studies through to installation and commissioning. Pelagian has experience working on various offshore wind projects such as the Gwynt y Mor and North Hoyle offshore wind farms, where they were contracted as the permitting consultants and route engineers.

Falmouth Divers is a multi-disciplinary consultancy with two arms: one for diving and subsea engineering and the other for marine civil engineering. Previous experience in the offshore wind industry has included diving contracts for array cables and foundations for a number of projects in both the UK and Denmark. These include some of the earliest offshore wind projects in the open sea and the UK’s first large scale project.

Coastline Surveys, based in Falmouth Cornwall, is a marine survey company, offering its services to the oil and gas industry, dredging companies and the emerging marine and offshore renewables markets. Coastline Survey’s experience has included providing vessels for bird surveys for the Atlantic Array, Greater Gabbard, Docking Shoal and Race Bank offshore wind farms

Reflex Marine provides offshore access solutions in the form of personnel transfer products. Based in Truro, Cornwall, Reflex has been supplying to the offshore oil and gas industries and now have sold four TORO crew transfer capsules into the offshore wind sector.
