Ready for Retrofit programme - Our vision is to create a sustainable domestic energy efficiency and microgeneration sector in the south west, capable of delivering a massive refurbishment of south west housing stock, and benefiting in full from national finance mechanisms to 2020, such as Feed in Tariffs, Renewable Heat Incentive, Green Deal and the new Energy Company Obligation.
The Environmental Technologies iNet is a £2 million initiative supporting Environmental Goods and Services companies in the South West (excluding Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly). As a 'one-stop-shop' for the sector, it helps businesses access specialist knowledge, develop products and services, improve competitiveness and engage with new routes to market
The project seeks to create 523 new jobs and safeguard 950 more in the construction, building services engineering, energy assessment and energy advice sectors in the West of England. The project comprises three key elements in creating sustainable jobs growth across the West of England, creating capacity in the skills sector to deliver specialist training in low carbon technologies, stimulating demand and developing the capability of the future workforce in energy efficient installation/ retrofitting to capitalise on the opportunity for business growth and generating consumer demand to maximise impact and uptake of these services in the West of England.
