The Localism Bill was laid before Parliament for its first reading on 13 December 2010. It constitutes an overhaul of the current relationships between central and local government and local communities.

Neighbourhood planning

National Planning Policy Framework

The draft National Planning Policy Framework was out for consultation over the summer/autumn 2011.  Regen SW submitted a strong response opposing plans for "a presumption in favour of sustainable development" on the basis that the definition of sustainable development used was not balanced, and in fact as defined amounts to a presumption in favour of economic growth at the cost of the environment.  Our response is available to download below.
