Creating a positive environment for sustainable energy
We undertake a holistic programme of work to build political, community and public support, enable an approach to development that brings local benefits, and address the key challenges of grid and planning.
Onshore electricity: unlocking the barriers
Regen SW helps developers and communities understand what their options are for developing onshore electricity projects in the south west, and how they can best develop their ideas. We work to unblock the barriers to onshore electricity deployment.
Renewable heat: supporting the sector
Regen SW has been at the forefront of supporting renewable heat projects in the SW for many years, having managed early grant funding for bioamss boilers (the Bioenergy Capital Grant Scheme) and played a key role in some of the region's strategic heat networks.
Offshore renewables: pioneering innovation
The south west has the potential to become one of the world's leading centres for offshore renewable energy. This potential has been realised through its designation as the first marine energy park in the UK (for more information please visit the SW MEP page). The strength of the supply chain combined with the fantastic energy resources around the coast and excellent resource capabilities has put the south west at the forefront of the marine energy sector.
Micro-renewables and energy efficiency: facilitating sector growth
Regen SW works to support and develop a thriving micro-renewables and energy efficiency supply chain. We do this by providing routes to markets for south west based micro-renewable and energy efficiency companies through industry leading events such as the Renewable Energy Marketplace, our online Business Finder, advice on technology accreditation, national policy insights and the latest installation figures
Landmark Projects: our SWRDA funded projects
Regen was responsible for developing a number of landmark projects within the south west that have gone a long way to support the development of the sector, and ultimately create a thriving and a positive environment for sustainable energy in the south west
