One of the UK’s largest wind farm services company expands into Aerohub

Ainscough Wind Energy Services Ltd locates on one of the South West’s largest development sites, Aerohub @ Newquay Cornwall Airport

Ainscough Wind Energy Services Ltd, a subsidiary of the UK’s largest lifting services company the Goldman Sachs and Texas Pacific Group owned Ainscough Crane Hire Ltd, today announced it is expanding its operations by establishing a new base of operations on Aerohub @ Newquay Cornwall Airport’s Enterprise Zone. This is the second major investor to locate to Aerohub since its formation.

Ainscough Wind Energy Services Ltd, which provides turnkey solutions to the wind industry, had been operating from office space in Newquay town centre and required a larger footprint in order to expand operations. The new premises at the Aerohub Business Park will consist of office and workshop space. The state of the art facilities will enable Ainscough to expand its operations in the wind energy market, where it provides solutions for suppliers including the lifting, building and servicing of wind turbines. The facilities will be used for maintenance and turnkey support for all major wind turbine manufacturers and will bring new jobs to the area.

Director of Ainscough Wind Energy Services Ltd, John Fabby, said: “The opportunity to be part of the development at Aerohub was extremely attractive. We required a unique site that could meet our space requirements and Aerohub was the only place that could meet our demanding requirements. Ainscough Wind Energy Services Ltd is a growing company and looks forward to expanding alongside the development of the Enterprise Zone. The BusinessPark at Aerohub will allow us to operate freely as well as take advantage of the excellent connectivity at the airport.”

As England’s only aerospace focused Enterprise Zone, which is led by the Cornwall and Isles of Scilly Local Enterprise Partnership, Aerohub already has a number of high profile clients within the 280-acre site, and has huge development potential. Ainscough will provide Aerohub @ Newquay Cornwall Airport with highly reputable manufacturing and industrial abilities along with the opportunity to grow on the site.

Chris Pomfret, Chair of the Cornwall and Isles of Scilly Local Enterprise Partnership said “The arrival of Ainscough adds to a growing range of businesses on site, building towards a critical mass of expertise that offer highly skilled jobs to the local area. It is only fitting that our latest investor comes from the renewable energy sector, a market in which Cornwall is a major player.”

Al Titterington, Managing Director of Newquay Cornwall Airport said: “As the first business to set up on the Business Park at Aerohub, Ainscough Wind Energy Services Ltd will set an exceptional example of the type of business we are looking to attract to the development. It is a world-class renewable company with an excellent track record in the local economy and we look forward to supporting Ainscough’s ambitious growth plans.”

Aerohub is based on the Newquay Cornwall Airport site and is scheduled to include hangars, aircraft hardstanding, and office buildings as well as a BusinessPark.
