Universities of Exeter and Plymouth helping Guernsey research marine renewable energy options
The Universities of Exeter and Plymouth have created a new strategic, long term alliance with the States of Guernsey Commerce and Employment Department (C&E) to progress marine renewable energy in the states waters.
This alliance will involve multiple research projects focused on Guernsey’s marine renewable energy resources and is intended to be the catalyst for a longer term programme with select universities to ensure the state is well placed to benefit from large scale marine renewable energy projects. Through its dedicated Renewable Energy Team, C&E has the remit to asses and develop the states marine renewable energy resources including tidal , wave and wind power.
To do this it has teamed up with the Universities of Exeter, Plymouth and Cranfield which have world leading academics and departments plus significant experience in all areas of renewable energy.
