Update on FITs Review

14 March 2011

Following a conversation with DECC the latest timetable for the formal FIT Review consultation is that it is going through internal checks and is not imminent but will 'definitely' be out by end of March and 'possibly' before that.

Since the announcement of the FIT review we have been engaging with members and with DECC. Regen SW's Chief Executive Merlin Hyman has met with senior DECC officials, Huhne's special advisor and Department for Business officials to press two key messages

- The threshold for the large scale is too low and should be raised when formal consultation comes out.

- The review is undermining investor confidence generally in renewable energy and they need to act to ensure that it does not undermine those who have already invested.

We are also pleased to report that Alasdair Grainger, the DECC official leading the fast track review, will be speaking at Renewable Energy Marketplace on 22nd March - for details and to book go to www.regensw.co.uk/events/regen-sw-events-/renewable-energy-marketplace
