Routes to Market
Emerging opportunities for the SW based microgeneration sector 29 April 2010
Recent Regen SW research indicates that the amount of microgeneration installed needs to significantly increase if the UK is going to meet its 2020 renewable energy targets. National measures such as the Feed-in Tariffs (FITs), the Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) and the move towards zero carbon new buildings through the tightening of Building Regulations will all work to increase demand for microgeneration technologies. However, with an expected major growth in demand, there is the possibility that the supply chain will be unable to meet the levels of deployment required.
In order to take advantage of these opportunities, Regen SW is currently working on a number of regional initiatives to increase awareness of microgeneration technologies with end users and create clear routes to market for the supply chain in the region.
At the same time Regen SW, with regional partners, is also developing a package of support for the south west based microgeneration sector, to include improved access to skills and training provision in the region and assistance with gaining accreditation.
This event will provide information about the potential opportunities provided by these regional initiatives and the support available, as well as the latest information on the Feed-in Tariffs (FITs) and the Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI).
