Translating evidence into policy

This section of the toolkit will take you through a range of considerations which you will need to take when moving from creating an evidence base to developing policy.

The Drafting policy and targets page will take you through a suite of policy options which you might want to think about developing for both sustainable energy and climate change adaptation. This page looks at the various scales at which policy can be applied and what types of policy might be appropriate. On the Testing Policies & Targets page you will find guidance helping you work through the testing of your policies before putting them into practice.

On the Considerations for Delivery page, the toolkit highlights some issues to think about when drafting policies and the Stakeholder engagement page talks of the importance of ensuring you have broad support for the policy by bringing your colleagues from other departments and stakeholders from outside the authority to the table before your policies are put into practice.
