Online forums: communicating on action
If you want to talk to planners and other local authority staff who, like you, are tackling climate change and seeking sustainable solutions, there are a number of online forums:
- The Environmental Sustainability and Climate Change Community of Practice is an opportunity to share thoughts and ideas on addressing climate change in your area, and shares ideas on what works and what doesn't, and what would help you to be more effective. To join up, please register with the IDeA's Community of Practice for Local Government and search for the Environmental Sustainability and Climate Change Community from the list of Communities.

- The Carbon Trust's Local Authority Network is an online community for local authority officers that have an interest in non-domestic energy. If you are from a local authority you can register to become a member of the network.

- The SW NI188 (Planning to adapt to climate change) network is an online network principally set up for local authority officers who are leading on NI188 but which may also be useful for others interested in planning to adapt to climate change.
