Rob joined Regen SW on an 8 week internship in March 2012 to assist in data collection and analysis for the Renewable Energy Progress Report: South West 2012 Annual Survey. Adding to data collected in previous years, the survey collects renewable electricity and heat energy from companies based in the south west. The survey is designed to showcase the potential of renewable energy in the South West and to show how renewable energy is growing across the region. Rob’s experience of data collection and analysis gained during his University degrees, along with experience with Microsoft Excel and databases, helped him succeed in collecting and analysing important data during the internship.
Rob has a BSc in Physics with Astrophysics with honours and an MSc in Sustainable Management of Natural Resources from Leicester University. Rob has also completed the Introduction to Renewable Energy Systems course at the Centre for Alternative Technology in Machynlleth, Wales.
The internship has helped Rob gain industry experience within the renewable energy sector, whilst adding to his prior knowledge which he gained during his Masters degree.
